Mike McClure’s Bird’s Head Dirk is a knife that will immediately grab attention. The long, slender blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The spine is hand fileworked in a vine pattern. Both the blade and full tang are distal tapered for optimal balance.
The guard is formed from mokume gane. Brass, copper, and nickel silver are forged together into damascene layers. Mammoth ivory scales are nicely domed and are set with 9 nickel silver pins. Black fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
